Re: G2 Final Review and open house

This is extremely late notice. I have meetings and deadlines at work this morning. The class time was changed to the afternoons and my work schedule has be rearranged to accommodate the time change. Many of us have this same issue. I will arrive on time at the previously established time of 12:00.

I should have been more clear about the schedule. Review is 9am until noon. Open house is noon-3pm. Please do what you can to get here by 1030 for your review.

Dear Studio,

First, after a very productive couple of weeks I want to let you all know that it has been a pleasure working with you. This has been a valuable semester. You have already made a difference by putting people together around a spatial proposal for an idea for living better together. Now this idea is becoming a reality.

For the Wednesday events..
I need a rep (or pair) from each group to communicate with and to coordinate the exhibit of presentation materials onsite. You can ask me questions. You will sent me pictures. You will report status of the preparations. I will be unable to be in Orlando Monday or Tuesday so this is important.

For the final you will have;

1. Full size printed set of current (revised) construction documents.
2. Tuned up and paired down plots of your midterm site and concept renderings.
3. Two printed, cut and bound copies of the current book. (Spiral is fine for now). Include refined midterm materials together with a process chapter. ***Process includes your schedule (yes, I know, best laid plans) images of construction, images of thinking, material lists and sketches. In order to guide the assembling of your process I suggest using your schedule items as titles (or subtitles?). Exhibit the book in the container (so provide a surface).
4. Important, lay out and plot a thank you sheet for sponsors (one per container). Make a list. Try not to forget anyone. Accumulate logos. Layout with a list of what each provided.
5. Finally, a list of remaining tasks. This should be plotted as a large checklist so that it engages open house attendees with an understanding that these aren't finished!

The materials listed above should be installed in your container.

Jamie, we need your material as well. If you have updated drawings and maybe your book you should get it to the site for the jury. I propose that your work occupy the brick room between the projects.

Clean up. I sorted much of the recyclable material out of the garbage. Garbage must be wheeled down to the dumpsters in Jack's parking lot. Only construction debris can go in the dumpster out back. Clean up scraps and get rid of whatever you can into that dumpster.

Thanks!
