V60 Curtain Wall System - the Nelson-Atkins Museum - Steven Holl
Benefits / Characteristics:
- - Double-glazed, thermally broken, double-seal open wept system enhances thermal performance & effectively controls water drainage
- - Thermally enhanced SF-60 channel glass walls can achieve U-value of 0.19 or lower
- - SF-60 seamlessly integrates flat glass IGUs, providing continuous design lines
- - Unique frame design requires the glass be captured at the head & sill only
- - All components (head, sill, jambs) are visually identical for consistent, clean look
- - Accommodates vertical or horizontal glass channel orientation, including a unique unitized horizontal configuration
- - Accommodates all channel glass textures (60 mm flanges)
- - Multiple frame configurations, including all-glass curves (min. radius = 7 ft. (2 m)) & corners
- - Standard finish is 2-coat Kynar Arcadia Silver; custom colors available
- - Supported by industry-leading technical design team
- - Made in USA
Test Results

Details:
Composition:
Miniature acrylic tubes covered by translucent fiberglass sheeting
Applications:
Interior, Exterior
Installation:
Inserts in the cavity of a double-glazed channel glass wall. It is secured with silicone at the top, bottom, and one
continuous side. The material arrives cut-to-size from the factory, and can be easily re-cut in the field to meet job
conditions.
Approximate Dimensions:
Factory cut-to-size; Thicknesses = 5/8” (16 mm), 1′′ (24 mm), 1.25′′ (32 mm), 1.5′′ (40 mm); can be easily cut to size in
the field to meet site conditions
Approximate Weight:
0.25 lbs/ft2 (1.2 kg/m2)
Maintenance:
Okapane insulation is securely inserted and sealed inside the cavity of a double-glazed channel glass wall, and does not
require maintenance post installation.
Performance Characteristics:
Visible Light Transmittance (VLT) = 38% (24 mm Okapane)
Visible Light Transmittance (VLT) = 38% (24 mm Okapane)
U-Value = 0.28 (24 mm Okapane without Low-E) / 0.19 (24 mm Okapane with Low-E)
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) = 0.38
STC Rating = Brings an improvement of 1-2 dB soundproofing
